Coiled Form I   2014

Created during a brilliant summer school week-long workshop at STURT (Mittagong NSW) with tutor Michele Morcos. She is utterly amazing and she managed to bring out the best in each of us in the workshop. We all created our own original works, but had Michele there to show us many techniques. The above photos show the form from both ends.

Raffia; cotton textile with hand-drawn text; nylon multi-filament beading cord;  buttonhole stitch coiling technique

Wisteria Basket  2015

Made for the Gardenesque Exhibition at Gallery on Track, Goulburn, February 2015

Raffia (core and wrap) with artificial wisteria flowers intertwined with the basket, partly during construction.

In keeping with my love of whimsy, I stitched one of the wisteria flowers to the inside of the basket, so that when looking into the centre the wisteria peeps out at you.
